Winter Action Service for older people
Thanks to AGE UK and its branch in Lewisham and Southark, many older people can live a better life. Winter is a season in which many vulnerable old people face a challenge to keep up with their daily routine. Therefore we are pleased to receive the following information from Age UK
—
We are now reaching a Cold Weather alert level 3. In addition to the current Age UK Warm and Well in Winter programme and Winter Packs available, AGE UK are able to offer free extra support to older people living in Southwark.
This year we’re in the fortunate position to be able to offer 30 free hours of Help at Home time a week from Monday 18th January to Thursday 31st March to ensure older people stay safe. This time can be used to pick up shopping, prescriptions, call in and check or accompany someone on a visit.
If you’re concerned about an older person who you think may be temporarily housebound due to bad weather please fill in the attached referral form* and email it or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact on 020 7358 4077
*(Note by wise16: We were unable to attach the doc. document so we used a image instead. Please contact Age UK for further help)
Please note that your service/organisation can also refer people to the Winter Action fund until the 31st of March 2016.
