St George and Easter free events in Bermondsey at Market Place SE16

The Blue Bermondsey BID, in partnership with local community organisations, are bringing a series of Easter holiday events for all the family to enjoy.

Thanks to the support of United St Saviours Charity and Community Opportunity, Frog Morris bring three events for all to celebrate St George around the world.

The Blue Bermondsey BID also partnered with Big Local Works and Poise Tennis Coaching to organise a fun tennis day.

All events are free and there is not booking, just turn up and take part.

Fun Tennis in the market

Everyone is welcome to the free tennis fun day from midday at The Blue Market. Whatever your skills or age, this is tennis for all in the heart of Bermondsey. No booking, just turn up, take a racket and have a go with the help of Poise Tennis Coaching and Big Local Works

Celebrate St George, The Blue Anchor Library Workshops

Tuesday, 16 April 2019 | 1pm – 4pm and Thursday, 18 April 2019 | 1pm – 4pm

On Tuesday andThursday, April 16 and 18 from1pm to 4pm, in preparation for theCelebration of St George event, theBlue Anchor library will host a series of workshops, alongside performances of stories of the history of St George from Frog Morris. Participants will be invited to make and decorate props for their own show, including flags and tabards made from fabric, and shields and helmets made from cardboard; there will be other props available to decorate as well. Paint, pens and collage materials will be on hand and everyone will help to build up a giant dragon puppet made from paper and cardboard

St George Around The World celebration big day

Saturday, 20 April 2019 | The Blue Market | 11am – 4pm

On this Saturday, the Easter Bunny and St George’s dragon get together in The Blue Market with many free activities for all. There will be arts workshops for all ages,an international dance display, the story of St George told by local school children, an Easter egg Hunt, and a crafts and family activities area.
