Police briefing note
At about 3.30pm were called to a stabbing in Eugenia Road, SE16. Officers and paramedics found a 16-year-old boy with a serious stab wound to his wrist.
He is being treated at a South London hospital where his condition is described as not life-threatening, but potentially life-changing due to the injury. Officers have provided aftercare to the victim to support him and his family.
Crime scenes were established in Rotherhithe New Road and Eugenia Road while detectives in CID investigate the incident.
Officers have arrested two male juveniles on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. We are not looking for further suspects.
The incident is not believed to be gang-related. However, neighbourhood officers and Violent Crime Task Force (VCTF) are carrying out extra patrols of the area this evening and over the weekend.
Extra search powers under Section 60 have been considered, but are not thought necessary at this time.
