The Brunel Museum Café Gallery presents a series of lino cut prints and illustration by Antonietta Torsiello. She is a multi-discipline artist / printmaker based in London who also works with textiles.
Since 2010 Antonietta has exhibited her art work with galleries and institutions including the OXO Tower, The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, The Prince’s Trust, University College London, Credit Suisse Bank, KPMG Bank and Transport for London. She won the Oxford House Gallery People’s Choice award with her lithograph artwork titled ‘Miscommunication’ in 2011.
In 2014 Antonietta exhibited a range of ink and watercolour illustrations at the Brunel Museum. These works were initially pages from a book she created based on a view from Brunel’s accomplishments through his wife Mary’s eyes.
Returning to the Brunel Museum for another show from 1st October to 30th November 2016, Antonietta’s work focuses on lino printmaking techniques using bold line and tone.

Antonietta Torsiello is an award winning visual and textile artist of Jamaican and Italian heritage raised in East London, UK. Mediums she works with include silk screen, lino print, etching, acrylic, watercolour, drawing ink, oil pastel, lentils, seeds and soil. Her work discusses the complex relationship between texture, nature, cultural traditions, emotion and her own personal experiences. Growing up in a cultural area of London with vibrant African and Asian communities, Antonietta developed an appreciation of textiles and a melting pot of cultures which can be seen in her working style.
Antonietta won the Oxford House Gallery People’s Choice award with her lithograph artwork titled ‘Miscommunication’ in 2011. Since then she has exhibited her art work with galleries, institutions including the OXO Tower, The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, The Prince’s Trust, University College London, Credit Suisse Bank, KPMG Bank and Transport for London.

While studying Fashion and Textiles at College Antonietta developed a real passion for texture and specifically silk screen printing. Something which she continued to use as a tool for her artistic expression, majoring in printed textiles in her final major project at University.
Antonietta is currently delivering innovative courses and workshops, including: children workshops, hand painted ceramics, upholstery and charity and community commissioned events. Click here for details including how to book a place/ request an event.
In 2014, Antonietta set up her successful Art and Homeware business with product ranging from art works, cushions, lampshades, tea towels, greeting cards.
Her products are developed and designed in her East London studio. The textiles in her range are hand printed using environmentally friendly inks on natural unbleached cotton.
As well as running her own practice, Antonietta is a community artist working on projects with several Local authorities and community groups. In 2015 she co-founded Forest Gate Arts Trail, to improve community art engagement and make art accessible through local exhibitions and interactive art workshops in East London, whilst improving links between local schools, businesses and the wider art community.

The recently refurbished Brunel Museum Café sells tea and coffee and delicious cakes by Kai’s Kitchen. Open Museum hours. The Café is also a gallery and hosts a series of exhibitions by talented local artists and photographers
