Employment training course Job Booster: CVs, Searches, Interviews
Big Local Works South Bermondsey have partnered with WEA and Hexagon Housing to run some training workshops for us. These workshop have been designed for Southwark resident to gain the skills, useful in finding and getting work with confidence.
Course Aims
To help people to identify their transferable skills, and things to consider when deciding what jobs to apply for.
Course Description
This course is for anyone who is lacks confidence in the abilities, skills and qualities they offer in the workplace. The course covers transferable skills, how to find and apply for jobs, tips on how to write a CV and covering letter and how to give a good impression at interviews.
Do I need particular skills or experience
No skills or experience needed, this course is suitable for beginners and improves. You must be 19 years old and over.
What will I achieve by the end of the course 1?
- You will be able to identify two or more transferable personal skills and two areas for development
- Recognise two important things to consider when looking for a job describe how to efficiently search for jobs
- Match personal skills to job descriptions and complete a C.V. application form and covering letter
- List six ways to prepare for an interview and demonstrate positive body language
What teaching methods will be used and will there be work outside of the class?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning.
- Activities may include tutor presentation, small group work, working in pairs class discussions and short tasks
You may wish to bring example of previous CVs and job that interest you.

£30 or Free to people on benefits / income under £16,000 p
