Draw 17: The Society of Graphic Fine Artists
‘Draw 17’ is the Annual Open Exhibition of the Society of Graphic Fine Artists, the Drawing Society, to be held at the Menier Gallery, London, from 2nd to the 14th of October. Founded in 1919, the Society promotes the importance of drawing in all media and styles. This annual open exhibition celebrates the outstanding quality and diversity of drawing, whether evidenced in monochrome with graphite on paper, through print-making, or at the core of a work in colour using watercolour, or oils on canvas. Over 200 original artworks have been carefully selected from artists, both members and non-members, including international submissions. Whilst up-holding the great traditions of drawing, works on show also explore contemporary and innovative methods, addressing figurative to abstract subjects. Drawing is the unifying force which communicates through these selected works, and with over 2000 pounds worth of prizes awarded this year, ‘Draw 17’ will be an exciting exhibition to experience.
