Why is it called WISE16?

Every name has a story and WISE16 has its own; it was the result of one of those endless Google searches we all do at some point in our life, a sort of naive attempt to find that unique name.

That search led to the expression ‘wise up to’ and the name for the website was decided. For those unfamiliar with it, the term can be used to express someone becoming aware or informed about something, usually accidentally, it’s pretty much how many residents reported having learned about events in the area. The aim of WISE16.co.uk would be to share local information about Rotherhithe and Bermondsey.

Wise Up To: Get to know or become aware of, usually accidentally
