Community Council News: The Bermondsey Community 

Cookery School opens at the Blue Michelin star celebrity chef Raymond Blanc, was at the Blue recently to open the Bermondsey Community Kitchen, a professional cookery school for local young people, which is located on top of Dun’s Deli’s local café. Photography – Selim Koor 

 This social enterprise was awarded £5,000 from the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Neighbourhoods fund to train local young people and £27,500 from the Cleaner Greener Safer scheme for a van and catering wagon.

The brainchild of Mike Donovan, the deli owner, this school aims to teach 16-24 year olds and local unemployed people the skills to gain a relevant level 2 professional cookery City &Guilds Diploma, so that they can get full time work in the catering industry.
