Classical Music – Musica Antica presents Connexion Italien
Musica Antica presents Connexion Italien
Musica Antica Rotherhithe chart the transmission of opera to France in the mid-17th Century, with extracts from Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo and Francesco Cavalli’s Ercole Amante, followed by ballets from the crowning achievement of Jean-Baptiste Lully and Moliere’s collaboration: Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme.
One of their grandest concerts to date, it features a cast of four excellent singers, Baroque Flutes and Violins, Baroque Guitar, Theorbo and Harpsichord.
The concert will take place at the Holy Trinity Church in Rotherhithe. As ever, Home-infused Gins, wine and beer will be available before the performance and during the interval, the proceeds of which support Holy Trinity Church, Rotherhithe

About Mvsica Antica Rotherhithe
Musica Antica Rotherhithe was founded in 2016 by local musicians Oliver Doyle and Jessica Eucker, with the aim of bringing regular performances of Early Music to SE16.
While specialising in the performance of 17th Century chamber music, their repertoire extends into opera, and to the works of composers writing in the High-Late Middle Ages, often overlooked in programmes today

The good cause: helping The Holy Trinity Church
As ever, Home-infused Gins, wine and beer will be available before the performance and during the interval, the proceeds of which support Holy Trinity Church, Rotherhithe
Holy Trinity Church is set in an ever changing part of the London Docklands, with new developments on the go or still on the drawing board. As such they also have an international community round-about us which is also ever changing, growing and developing.
