Campfire Club: Marry Waterson & Emily Barker |Cairi Jacks
This summer, The Nest Collective invites you to discover extraordinary music around the campfire.Every week from May to September, we gather in beautiful green spaces under city skylines and listen to amazing music by artists from all over the world.
We come together in the simple way that people have done for thousands of years, around the fire with food, drink, music and each other. The performances are unamplified, allowing you to get up close and personal and hear the artistsโ music in a very intimate way.

Marry Waterson & Emily Barker
English folk royalty meets Australian soul in this new collaboration between Marry Waterson and Emily Barker. Their new album โA Window To Other Waysโ (One Little Indian) is full of fly-on-the-wall observations of the contradictions and disconnections of modern life.
โa charmer that slips between stylesโ โ UNCUT
No strangers to collaboration, Waterson and Barker discovered an immediate kinship when they started writing together. The intriguing combination of Watersonโs poetic lyrics and Barkerโs eclectic musicality has been shaped in the studio by musical polymath Adem Ilhan, with recording contributions from two of Barkerโs live band: Lukas Drinkwater (bass and guitar) and Rob Pemberton (drums).
“the product of two revered musicians embarking upon an exciting, explorative journey, and a charmed collaboration” โ Folk Radio UK
Serendipity worked her magic in bringing Waterson and Barker together. The resulting collection of songs pushes the boundaries of Barker and Watersonโs renowned roots styles, venturing into a diverse union of genres – contemporary folk, country and soul nestles comfortably alongside lilting indie and playful blues.
“a warm, endearing, endlessly humane collaboration between two potent voices” โ CLASH
