Bermondsey Lifestyle Medicine Seminar
By 2020, the World Health Organization predicts
that two-thirds of all disease worldwide will be the result of lifestyle
choices. In the United States, the primary causes of premature adult
deaths are related to unhealthy behaviours, such as tobacco use, poor
diet and lack of physical activity. These findings are widely accepted,
and well-established chronic disease practice guidelines uniformly call
for behaviour change as the first line of prevention and management.
However, some physicians often do not follow these recommendations.
Learn lifestyle habits and tools that will empower you to improve your health and greatly reduce your risk of diease. Lifestyle medicine has been defined as “ the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic approaches, such as a predominantly whole food, plant-based diet, physical activity, sleep, stress management, tobacco cessation and other non-drug modalities, to prevent, treat, and, oftentimes, reverse lifestyle-related, chronic disease thatโs all too prevalent.โ
Join Dr Lutterodt and his colleagues from the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine as they provide an interactive session where they will give expert advice on prevention and reversal of various conditions. Dr Lutterodt is currently a London based GP registrar. He became inspired by the ever growing branch of lifestyle medicine which saw him change from surgical training to General Practice. Overall, Chris aims to provide evidence-based lifestyle advice to his patients as a means to prevent and treat disease.
