Bermondsey Bitesize Bandstand Music
The fantastic music programme on the iconic bandstand is headlined by Indika band, led by Bermondsey’s own Phillip Poleon. The band has played with a host of legendary Reggae artists, most notably being the backing band for Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry; now they have teamed up with Winston Reedy, who was crowned as Britain’s Best Reggae Singer 3 years-in-a-row when he went solo after leaving the Cimarons.
Locally based band Redriffe provide main support with classic hits songs from the History of British Rock, featuring songs from the likes of Bad Company, Beatles, Bowie, Free, Kinks, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and The Who.
Vocalist Stephen Pierre, founder of the grassroots community organisation Unity Music Arts Team, leads our next music act. Featuring student and graduate musicians from leading London music conservatoires; they are showcasing a repertoire of music from many diverse genres.
More than music
While listening to the fantastic music played throughout the day, visitors to the Bermondsey Bitesize 2021 can visit the traditional funfair, have something to eat at the food stalls and enjoy free family activities.
