Paid Work Placement Opportunities For Unemployed residents

Allies and Morrison is an award-winning architectural design and urban planning practice based in its own purpose-built studios in Bankside, Southwark. The practice has been working on a masterplan to help the creation of a new urban centre at the heart of Canada Water, including designing two of the first buildings incorporating offices, homes, retail and a new council leisure centre. The project aims to create a special place to enjoy the site’s dockside setting with trees and green areas.

As part of their work on the Canada Water Masterplan, Allies and Morrison are offering two paid (London Living Wage) work placements to join the Practice for two weeks starting in February or March 2019. These opportunities will provide valuable experience in Business Support functions such as HR, Finance, IT and Facilities.

The work placements are available to people between the ages of 18 and 65 who are currently unemployed or economically inactive, with the priority being those who live in Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks wards, and the wider SE16 area – although the opportunities are open to those living in Southwark meeting these criteria.

What we’re looking for:

You should enjoy architecture and the creative world, be inquisitive and communicate well. You will have lots of energy and enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude. A team player with a passion and pride in what you do. You must have strong software skills and be proficient in IT generally and able to learn quickly.
