Albion Street Civic Centre proposal
The regeneration of Albion Street is taking place at a pace that many in the area find too slow. The Old Library/Civic centre will be a key element to revitalise the street. The project includes 25 residential units in this new build with a medical centre on the ground floor to relocate the current Albion Street Group Surgery. The building is being designed by Bell Phillips Architects
The first initial proposal took place in a consultation event back on Monday 2oth July 2015 with a follow up planned for the spring of 2015. You can see the consultations boards below. The second phase of the project should take place sometime in early spring -date, venue and time to be confirmed. We suggest to check Southwark Council website for further updates)

Housing Regeneration are currently preparing for a second round of consultation of the Albion sites which are currently scheduled to take place online on Tuesday 19th January 2016. Please note that this presents the opportunity for comments to be up loaded directly on to the Southwark Housing Regeneration website (Since the council will make this consultation online, if you don’t have have to a computer, we suggest to have your say using one of the libraries in the borough)
Current design proposals for the Albion Civic Centre site is for a 5 storey building where the ground and upper ground floor would accommodate a medical surgery with consultant rooms, reception, administration and staff and group rooms. Twenty five residential homes are being proposed for location on the upper storeys.
