Better Bankside Together At Christmas Campaign

Together At Christmas

Together at Christmas campaign continues one more year to make a difference to the lives of homeless and vulnerable people in the Bankside area. You can remind them that somebody cares by getting involved with the Bankside annual winter appeal.

41 local companies hosting boxes to collect over 2500 gifts just last year!

Volunteers wrapped the gifts at festive wrapping parties organised by Better Bankside before we delivered them to over 800 neighbours at local charities for homeless or vulnerably housed people in the community. These gifts, often items we take for granted, really make a difference to people who may otherwise receive nothing.

You can contribute to make the 2015 campaign better than ever!

Get in touch, email for more information. There are things we can do to help

Host a collection point and encourage donated items from your colleagues and/or the general public to leave donated (new) items there. Get in touch with Bankside to arrange a deliver a festive cardboard box  to help you with your collection. These will then be collected on Monday 7th December.

* Organise a fun and festive employee in-house session to wrap the gifts you collect (with full guidance from Better Bankside)

* Donate Gifts!

What gifts are needed? When you do your shopping, simply buy an extra gift from the list below:

  • New Warm clothing items particularly Men’s – underpants, warm socks, t-shirts, gloves, hats, joggers, jeans and footwear (size 9-10)
  • Toiletries (Essentials: Disposable razors, shaving foam, deodorant, towels; Luxuries: Shower gel, moisturisers)
  • Festive non-perishable food – luxury treats, chocolates, Christmas puddings
  • Please avoid alcohol and anything second hand (remember these are special gifts, rather than charity shop donations

* Collect financial donations from colleagues, to buy gifts centrally if that works best for your team

Volunteer to help wrap donated gifts at a Better Bankside festive wrapping session taking place on 8 and 9 December on the premises of our beneficiaries St. Mungo’s, directions here (link is external). Sessions generally run from 11-3pm and any time you can volunteer to help is much appreciated.

Email Better Bankside to get involved with any of the above!
