Allies and Morrison Work Placement Opportunities in September 2018

Allies and Morrison is an award winning architectural design and urban planning practice based in its own purpose-built studios in Bankside. The practice has been working on a masterplan to help the creation of a new urban centre at the heart of the Rotherhithe peninsula. The project aims to create a special place to enjoy the site’s dockside setting with trees and green areas. Allies and Morrison is designing two buildings in the first phase of the masterplan; one will include new workspace and shops on the dock edge by Canada Water. This will include a new public leisure centre with swimming pool, sports hall and gym. The other building will be at the entrance to the dock on arrival from Canada Water station and will provide a mix of offices, retail and homes in a 35 storey building.

GoodPeople are delighted to be partnering with Allies and Morrison to recruit two paid work placements to join the Practice for two weeks starting on 10 September 2018.

These opportunities will provide valuable experience in Business Support functions such as HR, Finance, IT and Facilities. The work placements are available to people between the ages of 18 and 65 who live in the Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks areas and are currently unemployed or economically inactive.

You should enjoy architecture and the creative world, be inquisitive and communicate well. You will have lots of energy and enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude. A team player with a passion and pride in what you do. You must have strong software skills and be proficient in IT generally and able to learn quickly.

All Allies and Morrison work placements are paid at the London Living Wage rate.

Additionally, there is an opportunity for local young people to be supported by Allies and Morrison in accessing career opportunities in architecture and design with paid work placements. These will also run from Monday 10 September and the duration will be a minimum of two weeks.
